Hounds: The Last Hope is a visceral third-person shooter in the style of Gears of War, featuring PVE and PVP modes in a post-apocalyptic world full of zombies and other grotesque creatures. Extremely popular in Asia, Hounds is Netmarble’s first global PC game and offers an in-depth story mode to accompany fast-paced multiplayer.
Hounds is launched with four classes: Assault, Tech, Specialist and Support. Each class has its own set of weapons and can individually use one of eight different weapons. There are many armor and costumes to choose from, from the most serious military type to the crazy high school uniform, the cyber ninja costume or even an inflatable duck.
Hounds: The Last Hope is a massive online multiplayer (MMO) game in which you are the new recruit of a human army whose objective is to fight against rogue aliens who have invaded Earth. As you can see, the premise is not new; you may have heard of it in many other games, movies and so on. However, the game has its own twists and features.
First, you can create up to five different characters to choose from, each with their own unique characteristics. You can choose from four different categories of soldiers: Assault, Tech, Support and Specialist. You can customize almost every characteristic of each one, from skin and hair color to the protective clothing and equipment they wear. You can use only one of these characters at a time.
The game has a training feature that will allow you to become familiar with the game and its features; unfortunately, the program lacks a useful help file that can provide information on a variety of issues relevant to the game. You will need to use the game for a while and learn to use it by trial and error.
The game has very good graphics and effects and has no music, which adds to the realistic effect it conveys.
